Lets do this, 2020!

Stick with me.. This is a long one, but I promise you’ll want to hear what I am about to say.

The saying “life’s a journey” couldn’t speak to me more right now. My life has taken many journey’s over the last several years, allowing me to grow, understand and appreciate my business
and love of photography even more. I’ve traveled to Colorado, Oregon, Utah and
Puerto Rico for photography workshops and taken many on-line workshops.
I’ve been a partner in several stylized photo shoots, with one being
published in Rocky Mountain Bride. These opportunities, along with hard
work, have helped me realize where I want to take my business.  I love
traveling, exploring and adventure - THIS is what I love and want to do more
of. Incorporating my love of natural light portrait photography with my love of
the outdoors is where my heart is leading me. It’s my passion.  I’ve
learned from some wise people to not wait to follow your passion. Many of my
clients select me as their photographer for my style - how I incorporate the
landscape into my photos, how I use natural light and my editing style. THIS is
what I love and what I want to focus on.  I’m a goofy, fun, real,
adventurous, outdoor photographer. I strive to create moments and laughter at
every photo session. These captured memories are priceless. I’ve also learned
that I am not a studio-based photographer.

Two years ago I decided to open a studio space because it seemed to be the right next step.  I already loved outdoor photography, but I thought I had to do studio work to make it as a professional
photographer. I’ve since learned I was wrong. I took on some studio work, but
it never really struck a cord with me. I was grateful for these opportunities,
but wasn’t excited about them like I was for the outdoor photo shoots. Over the
last year I’ve found myself doing less studio work, convincing my clients to do
outdoors shoots instead.  If they insisted on a studio session, I would
recommend another local photographer who specializes in studio work. I have
been paying for a great studio space that I hardly ever use.

This is why it’s time for me to give up my studio space. It has been an amazing two years and I
would not change it for anything. Many lessons have come with the studio and
it’s all helped me become a better photographer and business woman. With that
said, I am so freaking excited to announce that I will be focusing on outdoor
portraits. My passion is couples, be it their engagement, elopement or intimate
wedding. This is what I was meant to photograph! I will continue to be
available for weddings/elopements, couples, families, and high school seniors
as they’re ALL so much fun to photograph.

Closing down my studio does NOT mean my business is closing... absolutely not! Samantha D’Anna
Photography is moving on to bigger and better things, allowing me to hone my
craft and focus on my passion. This does not mean I will never shoot another
portrait indoors, I do love some natural light indoor portraits, this just
means that I will no longer have a “studio” space in town and I will no longer
be taking on any studio portrait work.

If you want a lifestyle session inside your home, I am still your girl!  I will be your go-to
photographer for adventurous, fun, candid portraits that really tell a story. I
want to travel with you, bond with you, and create real memories for every
client. My end goal is to tell a story, for you to have fun, laugh and run
around, while making memories.

2020 will be the year of growth and more travels, while I feed my soul. I have started booking out of state weddings and elopements, and I can not wait to book more! I want to spend my
time outside with my clients having fun, playing in a river and goofing off.
This is me, and this is my business, and I seriously can not wait for what is
to come!

Samantha D’Anna Photography will continue to provide photography services without studio space as of February 1. Nothing else will change. Photo sessions will be scheduled the same way. My web page has my contact and scheduling information, investment packages, photo galleries and
print ordering availability.

I want to give a huge thanks to everyone for their continued support as my business has grown
over the years. I could not have done it with out you all.

Lets go 2020, I’m ready for ya!
